Windows Store app improved with a new progress bar, UI tweaks and notification changes
Microsoft rolls out a major update to the Store app
The new update for the Store app is now rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview, Slow and Fast Rings, bringing many noticeable improvements and small UI tweaks to Store. Update 11703.1000.156.0 finally improves the fat and ugly update / download progress bar, replacing it with a more aesthetic looking skinny progress bar. The new bar also shows the download speed in addition to the size of the app.
In addition to the new download progress bar, the company has re-positioned the Share button which is now below the app picture, next to the Install button. The update also improves the Store app notifications with the ability to launch and pin the app to Start directly from the toast or the notification in the action center. Among the other changes in this version of Store are improvements in the hamburger menu, and UI improvements to the app picture.
This update is currently rolling out only to Windows Insiders, but Microsoft may release the updated Store to everyone on Windows 10 around the official Creators Update for PC and Mobile.
