Is Windows 10 Mobile Preview coming to HTC devices?

Microsoft has quietly updated its Windows Phone Recovery Tool – a special software that allows you to return to an official build of Windows Phone if you are running a pre-release software like Windows 10 Technical Preview builds.

The new Recovery Tool version 2.3 supports HTC phones like HTC 8X, 8S and HTC One. This is a good indicator that Microsoft is working on releasing Windows 10 to HTC-branded smartphones in the near future.

Gabriel Aul already confirmed on Twitter that Nokia Lumia Icon and Lumia 930 will be supported in the next Preview Build of Windows 10 Mobile, but we don’t have official information about HTC phones.

A new build for Phones is expected this week, of course, if it passes the internal tests. We will update you if Windows 10 becomes available for non-Lumia smartphones.
