Windows Phone reaches an 11.1% share in Europe, keeps growing in most markets
Positive trends for the platform ahead of Windows 10 Mobile launch
Katnar’s latest figures for the smartphone market are out and they are pretty positive for Windows Phone for this time of the year.
Despite there are no new flagships and the only good offerings on the markets now are Lumia 640/640 XL and a few non-Lumia phones such as BLU Win HD LTE, customers in most of the markets buy more Windows Phones than before.
As expected, Windows has the strongest position in Europe, where the platform has grabbed 11.1% of the market for the 3 months ending in July. In the U.S., Windows Phone has a 3.8% share, compared with 2.5% for the same period in 2014.
Here are all numbers (compared with 2014):
- EU5: 11.1 % (+2.4%)
- Germany: 10.1% (+4%)
- Great Britain: 12% (+1%)
- France: 12.6% (+3.9%)
- Italy: 14.5% (+1.5%)
- Spain: 4% (-0.4%)
- USA: 3.8% (+1.3%)
- Australia: 6.9% (+1.3%)
- China: 1.5% (+0.4%)
