Windows 10 version 1607 will be the official Anniversary Update
Microsoft begins bug fixing and stabilizing the Anniversary Update build
The Redstone 1 Update (Anniversary Update) for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile is almost feature complete, and Microsoft is now stabilizing the OS and fixing bugs in the internal Redstone builds, according to a new report by Winbeta. This official update scheduled for July 2016 is version ‘1607’, but we may see a small jump in the build number from current 14342 to 1435x, along with some small changes and new things.
However, most of the new features planned for Desktop and Mobile will arrive with the Redstone 2 update in the first half of 2017, a year in which Microsoft promised to do some ‘cool things for the phones’.
So, Microsoft now has less than two months to finalize the Anniversary Update before rolling it out to the general public in July. Before that, the unofficial builds will reach all Insiders on Slow and Fast Ring for testing and feedback.
