New features and enhancements for Windows 10

Microsoft has officially unleashed the feature update, following months of testing through the Insider program. Windows 10 October 2018 Update now appears as build 17763, bringing many new features and improvements for supported PCs. Here’s what’s the most interesting in this update:

Dark Theme for Explorer: After many first-party apps got a dark theme, now it’s time for the Explorer.

Clipboard improvements: The clipboard is connected to the cloud, allowing you to copy multiple items with Win+V, and then use these copies on all your connected devices. For example, you can copy text in Word and then use it on Notepad on another device .

Phone App: The new app allows you to read messages on the PC.

Storage Sense: Microsoft improved the way Windows deals with disk space. You can free unused storage by disabling the option that OneDrive copies content locally on the device.

Snipping Tool: The rebranded tool ‘Snip and Sketch’ will help you quickly clip a portion of the screen by pressing Win + Shift +S. You can then see the clips in the picture folder.

Other improvements in this update include Learning Tools on Reading View, and autofill data in Edge. Fluent Design is more visible in the October 2018 update, bringing depth and shadows to new elements of the operating system.

You can update your Windows 10 PC by going to Settings → Updates & Security → Windows Update.
