Windows 10 Mobile: Name Change & New Contact and Messaging pages
The upcoming preview version of Windows 10 Mobile to include many new features
According to screenshots of build 12531 leaked from the Chinese website ITHome, Microsoft is changing the name of the phone-based OS from Windows 10 for Phones to Windows 10 Mobile. This mobile version of Windows 10 will be identical on small tablets (up to 7.9-inches) and phones, so the name ‘Mobile’ does make a lot of sense.
In addition to the name change, we can see for the first time a new redesigned contact menu with round profile images instead of square photos.
The Messaging app has also gone through a slight redesign, but still lacks functionalities like full Skype integration.
We know that Microsoft is working on a public preview version of Windows 10 Mobile (expected in early April). The upcoming Technical Preview for Phones will introduce many new features and design changes. Among the most exciting ones is an early version of Spartan browser whose screenshots already leaked online.
Stay tuned for latest news on Windows 10 Mobile (former Windows 10 for Phones).
