Xiaomi Mi 4 users can turn their Android phones into Windows Phones

Microsoft and Xiaomi announced this summer that both companies were working on a custom Windows 10 Mobile ROM for the Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone. After months in a closed beta, the Xiaomi Windows 10 Project is ready to begin its roll out to the general public.

The official release of the Windows 10 Mobile ROM for Mi 4 LTE is on December 3, according to a post by Xiaomi co-founder Bin Lin. He shared a photo on a Chinese social network with the Mi4 running Windows 10 Mobile and the date December 3.

The Windows 10 Mobile ROM will be initially available only for the LTE version of the Mi 4, but the 3G/WCDMA model may also be supported in the near future, according to the MIUI forums.

Xiaomi Mi 4 is a budget-friendly 5-inch smartphone with impressive specs that include a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, 13 MP rear camera by Sony, and 3080 mAh battery.
