Windows 10 installed on Xiaomi Mi 4 demonstrated on Video
Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview expands to former Android phones
Microsoft is about to give some Android users the ability to install and test Windows 10 Mobile on a limited number of devices, as part of an experimental program started in China. Xiaomi Mi 4 will be the first Android phone to get access to Microsoft’s platform, but other devices like OnePlus One could be added too.
Weeks ago, Xiaomi’s official forums informed the users for the Windows 10 arrival , which should happen soon, and the response from the community has been pretty positive – more than 70% of all Xiaomi users have answered that they will be installing Windows 10.
While we are still waiting for the first Windows 10 ROM to be published, a new video demonstrates how Windows 10 Mobile looks on the Xiaomi Mi 4.
You can see an early version of Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview installed on the Xiaomi branded former Android/MIUI phone. This OS build should be very similar to that expected to be released for Windows Insiders in less than a week. Features like virtual pointer in the keyboard, new settings pages, full background, universal apps, and more, will be coming soon to Windows enthusiasts for testing.
If this experimental program for replacing Android with Windows is successful, Microsoft could expand its coverage to more device in the future.
