Video: the new UWP Skype app for Windows 10 Mobile
The first test version of Skype for Windows 10 Mobile is coming soon
Microsoft released the new Universal Skype app for Windows 10 PC weeks ago, but the mobile version hasn’t yet been presented to the Windows Insiders. Now it seems that the first test version is almost here and Insiders on the Fast Ring may be able to test the UWP Skype app on Windows 10 Mobile with the next Redstone build.
A video by Windows Blog Italia reveals many parts and UI elements of the app, but keep in mind that this is an unfinished version. The company should finalize Skype in time for the Windows 10 Anniversary update in late July. With this update (Redstone 1), Microsoft will remove the Skype integration in Messaging, and instead will offer the users ‘Messaging Everywhere’ – the ability to text from the phone directly from the PC.
To fill the ‘Skype’ gap, Microsoft will launch this universal Skype app for PC and Mobile.
