Microsoft releases an update for phones on the 1703 version

Last week, the company updated all phones on the 1709 version of Windows 10 Mobile (feature_2) to build 15254.313 with security improvements and fix of the PDF issue with Microsoft Edge. Now, it’s time for the two* Lumia phones on the Creators Update – version 1703.

Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL are updated to build 15063.966, and according to the official changelog, the update brings similar improvements:

• Addresses issue in which PDFs cannot be rendered in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 Phones.
• Security updates to Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Microsoft Graphics component, Windows Kernel, Windows MSXML

*This update could be available not only for the Lumia 640 line. If phones like the Lumia 930, 830 and 735 were updated through the Insider program from 1703 to 1709 version, they all should see build 15063.966 in the Windows Update.

Here are the official end-of-support dates for Windows 10 Mobile, depending on the version number:

• version 1607 – October 2018

• version 1703 – April 2019

• version 1709 – December 2019
