Switching between Windows Insider program and official track for updates is now easier
Windows Insider app gets an important update
Microsoft has rolled out an update to the Windows Insider app, and version 1.3.233.2 allows Windows Phone users to easily leave the program and put their phones onto the official track for updates.
Previously, those who wanted to leave the Insider program to get, for example, new firmware updates, had to hard-reset the phone. Now, after this change, you just need to leave the program from the Insider app to get an official update. After updating the phone you can re-enroll to the program for preview builds.
To leave the Windows Insider program and put the phone onto the official track you need to open the app, click on the ellipsis at the bottom, and select ‘Leave the program’. Then confirm your account and click on ‘Continue’.
Microsoft already released firmware updates for the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, so if you still haven’t received them, because you are part of the Insider program, just disenroll from the Windows Insider program and scan for an update.
