Spotify for Xbox One launch imminent
Screenshots of Spotify running on Xbox One
Microsoft is working hard to make the Windows family of operating systems and devices more appealing to the end users. After publishing their app in the Windows store, the popular music-streaming service Spotify is about to expand to the gaming console Xbox One.
Spotify for Xbox One is already in the Store, revealing its design and features, but it can’t be installed just yet. Thanks to screenshots of the app in the Xbox store, we can learn that the app has been optimized for the console, and it looks quite different than what we have in Windows 10. It looks a bit like a Windows 8 app, with tile-based interface. In fact, this is exactly the same design as the Android TV app.
It appears that Spotify on Xbox will be open for non-paying subscribers, just like the PC version, but the premium users will get access to better sound quality and they won’t hear any ads.
Spotify has so far been exclusive to PlayStation, so opening to Xbox One will help them find a new audience.
