Threshold, a codename related to a future Windows unification that will combine Tablets and Smartphones, emerges once again in a new post at ZDNet. Windows expert M. Joe Foley writes that Windows Phone 9 Threshold expected in 2015 will bring a number of new features to the mobile platform.

The new combined Phone/Tablet platform will work differently on different screen sizes and devices. Threshold’s SKU won’t have a Desktop environment but it will support side-by-side multitasking. Most Windows Phones and Tablets, not only Lumias but also ARM and Atom based phones and tablets, will work within the new environment, writes Foley.
