Rumor: NEO M1 with Windows Phone
NEO is working on a new mid-range device built around a MTK processor. Interestingly, the phone may arrive with Windows Phone 8.1 pre-installed, according to a picture leaked from official forum. The leak shows an elegant handset with a thin metal body and Windows Phone interface.
NEO M1 is described as having a quad-core MTK processor at 1.3 GHz, 5-inch screen with 720p resolution, 13 MP rear-facing camera from Sony, and 2000 mAh non-removable battery. The built-in storage capacity is said to be 8 GB, while a microSD slot would allow users to add more. The CPU is supported by 1 GB of RAM. As MediaTek processors are not supported by Windows Phone, NEO may switch to Qualcomm for NEO M1.
As we reported earlier, Microsoft has removed the license fees for all smartphone manufactures, which is expected to increase dramatically the numbers of non-Lumia phones running WP and reduce the total costs of the handsets.
NEO will present the M1 this week on April 10, so stay tuned for more coverage.
