Redstone 3 development intensifies with build number 16170
Internal Redstone 3 build advances to 16170
As Microsoft already finalized the Redstone 2 update for an April release to PC and Mobile, the company started working on the next major update for Windows 10 devices, an update codenamed Redstone 3 and planned for a late 2017 roll out.
The company recently hinted that Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring could expect the first test build from the Development branch this month around the official Creators Update, and it’s a good idea everyone to check the Insiders settings if not willing to risk with buggy updates.
Starting in March with build numbers 15xxx in the internal test ring, Microsoft has already advanced to build 16170, compiled on March 31. That means Windows Insiders will soon be able to test new builds (16xxx) from Redstone 3 on their devices. Keep in mind that the first redstone3 builds won’t include many changes and will be focused on core optimizations and tweaks.
