RAW editing on Windows Phone is now possible
RAWER app offers professional photo editing tools
There are only four smartphones in the world that can capture photos in RAW format and all four are Lumias! Lumia 1520, Lumia 1020, Lumia 930 and Verizon’s Lumia Icon are capable of capturing photos in unprocessed DNG file which contains all the information from the sensor. These RAW files can be viewed and manipulated using a special software without losing the quality.
Now, thanks to a new app for Windows Phone, the full control over these uncompressed images is possible on your Lumia smartphone. RAWER automatically searches for RAW files on the smartphone and displays all photos in a gallery. Users can view EXIF info and change a number of settings for free – white balance, size, noise reduction on/off, change export quality, and more. For more advanced editing options, including exposure, contrast, sharpness, saturation, brightness and hue, users need to upgrade to RAWER’s paid version which costs just $1.99.
RAWER includes a handy ‘before-after’ split screen so you see in real time the impact of the modifications you have made. Once you are happy with the results, the photos can be saved in JPEG format, uploaded to OneDrive, or shared through many Social media channels.
