OnePlus is considering a Windows phone
OnePlus’s director Carl Pei has revealed to Economic Times India that his company is considering a Windows Phone device. The Chinese mobile manufacturer, famous with its OnePlus One model, is exploring different scenarios to enter new markets and Windows in one of the alternatives to the forked Android version OnePlus runs.
Carl Pay told Economic Times:
“We have had discussions with Microsoft over a Windows Phone smartphone.We are still looking into it.”
Microsoft is working hard to attract as many new OEM as possible and a future Windows Phone version of the OnePlus One smartphone (or a brand new device) could be a good sign for the Windows ecosystem.
OnePlus’s most famous smartphone called offers very high-end specs and attractive design for just $299. The phone runs CyanogenMod which is based on Android. OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution, quad-core Snapdragon CPU with 3 GB of RAM, 13 MP camera by Sony, and 16 GB internal storage.
