Nokia Pocket Magnifier turns your phone into a magnifying glass
Pocket Magnifier is a new Lumia exclusive application developed by Nokia and Royal Institute for Blind. It is a small but handy app that turns the phone’s camera into a magnifying glass, giving users the ability to zoom and focus objects they want to observe. Using a number of on-screen buttons, Windows Phone users can apply different filters to enhance the quality, zoom and freeze the viewfinder or save images to the camera roll. Saved images or galleries can be accessed using a dedicated on-screen button, while another button turns on camera’s LED flash, providing enough light in order to achieve better results.
Several dynamic filters can be applied to the viewfinder, starting from a simple auto-enhance filter which auto-corrects exposure and contrast. There are also a ‘black on white’ filter for maximum contrast, as well as ‘white on black’, ‘negative’ and other dynamic filters. All these filters can make the text easier to read than the original viewfinder, especially in poor lighting conditions.
Nokia Pocket Magnifier is not the first glass type app available in the Windows Phone store, but we strongly recommend it over other magnifying apps as Nokia’s product gives a lot more options and tricks. Download the new app for free from the link below.
