Nokia Lumia 530 is official, priced at just $114 / 85 EUR
Yesterday we informed you about Lumia 530, an upcoming device with low-end specs and a possible replacement of the best selling Windows Phone to date. Today, Microsoft made the Lumia 530 official, so we can share more details on this competitor for the low-end.
Nokia Lumia 530 has similar specs, but a lower price – just 85 EURO or $114 before taxes and subsidies. At the same time, the new phone looks different than the Lumia 520 – it has rounded corners similar to the Lumia 620 / 630 / 635. One other major difference is the lack of physical software keys which have been replaced by virtual buttons thanks to changes in Windows Phone 8.1’s core. That allowed manufacturers to produce even cheaper smartphones and we have already seen such devices – Lumia 630 & Lumia 635.
The phone will be offered in two variants, both with 3G support – single SIM or Dual SIM. Color options are green, orange, and grey, but you can easily swap the back cover personalizing your device. Nokia Lumia 530 will be available globally in late Q3, with sales starting from August in selected markets.
With Lumia 530 and other new models Microsoft will try to compete on the low-end segment with devices like Moto G and Moto E. Following Microsoft’s decision to abandon all non-Windows mobile platforms in favor of Windows Phone, we can expect even cheaper smartphones in the coming months and years.
