New Windows Maps app starts rolling out to everyone
Updated Maps experience available for Windows users
Those Windows 10 Mobile users on the Release Preview Ring may now head to the Store and scan for app updates to see if there is an update available for Maps. Version 5.1603.1300.0 was rolled out to Insiders on the Fast Ring in March, but now the company is rolling out the new experience to everyone, starting from Insiders on the Release Preview ring. However, keep in mind that this update may not reach all devices at once, and there may be weeks before the updated Maps rolls out to everyone, including non-Insiders.
The new Maps on Mobile includes a redesigned UI with controls at the bottom, and a brand new driving experience. Maps also gets labels for search results, the ability to minimize results, directions and locations, and more. Windows 10 Maps will also allow you to save favorite places and access them offline.
