Skype’s Windows Phone app has been updated today for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1. The new version could be directly downloaded from Windows Phone store page.
Among the novelties are the options for photo exchange. The user can send photos to multiple numbers of contacts and can receive images from users with an iPhone 5.0 or above and Windows phone 8 devices. When sending photos to users with other devices, they might have to open a URL link before seeing the image.
Another change is related to the chat history. You can load even more than you’ve been able to up to now. You can also add favorite contacts by tapping the settings button when chatting with someone.
Another reform allows you to change the style and format of the text but do not take too much advantage of bold and intrusive text.
When commenting on their own product the company just emphasizes on having worked for a final product with great and fast performance. The version of the app is 2.21. The official changelog stresses on the new photo-sharing feature, the performance improvements and the general fixes.
The new photo exchange settings allow users to send photos even when recipients are offline. According to the company, such results require really hard work but developers are on the way to put the novelties into practice for all their devices soon. That means the Android app will be renewed, as well.
