Universal app on Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1

Microsoft is releasing a new tool for video editing called ‘Movie Creator BETA’. The app is universal, available for all Windows 8.1 PCs and tablets and exclusively for Lumia Windows Phones. With Movie Creator users can edit videos and mix different files  – photos, clips, music, texts, cinemagraphs and more. Final MP4 files can be shared with ease or uploaded to the cloud.

Movie Creator allows you to blend up to 25 individual videos with other files including music and photos. The clips can be re-arranged, trimmed, zoomed, rotated, panned, and enriched with effects, titles and texts.

There are several themes which can be applied, but users can get more through the in-app store. Volume of videos and music can be adjusted and users can select three output quality levels – high, medium, or low. There is no overall preview, so the video project must be rendered before watching. Keep in mind that the process could take around the same time as the clip length..or even more. Then the composition can be watched in the build-in player and saved in the camera roll. All rendered projects are also saved for further editing in their entirety so you can always open them for more editing and changes.

Video projects can be shared on popular social networks, pushed to email, OneDrive, or other third-party applications thanks to Windows Phone’s sharing capabilities.

Movie Creator BETA can be installed on any Windows Phone 8.1 Lumia including the low-end devices, and all Windows 8.1 tablets and PCs.
