Microsoft’s flagship phones to support Quick Charging
CItyman and Talkman to include Quick Charge 2.0 support
Later this year, Microsoft will unveil two flagship models equipped with Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810 processors. These two processors support the Qualcomm’s own technology for quick charging – Quick Charge 2.0.
According to a new report at ITHome from China, Microsoft has enabled the feature for both models, so their batteries will be charged much faster than the older generation of Windows phones.
Quick Charge 2.0 is already available in some of the flagship Android-powered models, but Lumia Cityman and Talkman will be the first Windows devices to support the feature.
Quick Charge is an intelligent tech that regulates the input power and significantly reduces the time for charging. Tests have confirmed that the feature can theoretically charge the devices up to 70% faster than normal.
The feature could be one of the top selling points (along with Windows Hello and Continuum for Phones) for the new Lumia flagships whose marketing names could be something like Lumia 940/950 and Lumia 940 XL/950 XL.
