Microsoft offers rare update for phones not eligible for the Anniversary Update
Windows 10 Mobile 10586.682 rolls out to older devices
According to AdDuplex, in October 90.5% of the Windows 10 Mobile users were on version 1607 (Anniversary Update) or newer, while only 9.5% were on the older Threshold 2 branch (version 1511, build 10586). Now, Microsoft is releasing a cumulative update to those 9.5% of the users with devices not eligible for the Anniversary Update.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.682 likely brings performance improvements and bug fixes, as it’s usually the case with the cumulative updates. This update should be available for all phones on the Threshold branch, including older devices like the Lumia 1020, 925 and Lumia 920 that got Windows 10 Mobile via the Insider Program. Some rare non-Lumia phones left without the Anniversary Update may also receive this update with improvements.
