Microsoft investigates installation issues, pulls the last Mobile build
Windows 10 Mobile Build 10586.29 pulled from the servers
In early December, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.29 for the Windows Insiders, and a few days later the build became available for all Lumia 950 and 950 XL users as an official update.
The majority of the Lumia 950 & 950 XL owners were able to download and install version 10586.29 without troubles, but a small portion of the Lumia 950 devices just refused to upgrade – these phones didn’t see the update, or they displayed error messages while downloading or installing the build. While the issue could be resolved after doing a hard-reset, Microsoft started an investigation, and even advised the users to wait for a fix.
Today, the company issued a statement to inform that build 10586.29 has been pulled from the public servers until the fix is ready to roll out. All current users (Insiders or not) who are running Build 10586.29 can still receive upcoming updates and builds, so they are not impacted by any future changes.
Update (December 16): 10586.29 is live again and available for download. An official statement from Microsoft (via ZDNet):
“After momentarily pausing the Windows 10 Mobile update due to an issue with the update server that impacted the installation of the update on a limited number of phones, we have addressed the issue and will begin rolling out the 10586.29 update again.”
