Microsoft to finalize Windows 10 Mobile this week
Build 10586 may be the final RTM build
Multiple sources have confirmed that Microsoft is ready with the Windows 10 Threshold 2 Update for mobile and desktop.
The company has reportedly selected Build 10586 as a release candidate for both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, and if everything goes well, this build should be released to all Windows Insiders later this week.
Sometime next week, Microsoft is expected to send the mobile build to carriers for testing. In late November, we may see the first Lumia phones that are non-carrier dependent (country variants) running Windows 10 Mobile. After testing and approval by carriers, the RTM build should start rolling out to the rest of the phones in December.
We are yet to see the final list with phones getting Windows 10 Update, but the Windows Insider program will give an access to the RTM build in any case.
While Windows 10 for Desktop has been out for months, the mobile version of the platform is yet to debut outside the Windows insider program. The current preview build 10581 runs pretty well on most of the phones, but there are still some annoying bugs that need to be fixed. We hope that Microsoft has repaired everything and the release is worth waiting for.
