Microsoft drops the annual fee for developers
For a while, Microsoft has been doing its best to attract as many app developers as possible. Yesterday, another barrier was removed and developers will no longer pay an annual fee for keeping their account alive.
Windows PC and Windows Phone developers can now submit new apps with no annual charge. Changes are already implemented and you will notice them once you’ve logged in to your Dev Center account which no longer expires.
Eternal Dev Center accounts leads to never expiring apps which should make all Windows developers happy. These changes are expected to make the Windows platforms more attractive for independent software makers.
