Microsoft Band 2 firmware update adds hiking tracking
The Microsoft Health app also receives an update
Microsoft adds new functionalities to the Microsoft Band 2. There is a new firmware available for the fitness wearable that adds the ‘Explore’ Tile along with many features for hikers. The company also updates the Health app to add the Explore Tile, and the ability to select / deselect all options in the Notification Settings.
The Explore Tile for hikers has been developed to track movements with GPS tracking lasting for up to 12 hours. Microsoft Band tracks the progress of your route and allows you to add points of interests like a lunch stop or a finding.
It tracks calories, heart rate, absolute elevation, and more. Then you can open the Microsoft Health app and see a map with the route with the points of interests, summary and elevation.
