MateBook X Pro has an infinity display and a camera that pops up from the keyboard
Huawei announces the impressive MateBook X Pro
The Chinese technology giant unveiled at the MWC in Barcelona the new version of the MateBook X. Labeled as ‘Pro’, it comes with the latest generation of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and a battery that lasts up to 14 hours. But the most impressive aspects of the MateBook X Pro are on the outside.
The laptop has a stunning 13.9-inch display, almost without bezels, and a resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels. It has a 1500:1 contrast ratio and 450 nits of maximum brightness.
And because of the infinity display, Huawei has come up with an interesting design decision for the webcamera. It’s positioned at the top part of the keyboard, close to the Huawei logo, but it’s hidden and you have to press on it in order to pop out. This is good for privacy, as you can simply close it once you finish the video call.
MateBook X Pro is not a cheap device. It costs €1499 for the configuration with i5, 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The i7 version with 16GB/512 GB is €1899.
