Lumia Cyan software update starts rolling out today
Nokia Conversations today announced that Lumia Cyan software update which combines Windows Phone 8.1 and many Lumia exclusive software additions has begun rolling out and all current models should receive the update within weeks (if not days from now).
Windows Phone 8.1 comes with a number of improvements and new customization options. Among the new functionalities is the Action Center that displays notifications, battery status and gives you quick access to some settings.
Lumia Cyan brings some exclusive features on top of Windows Phone 8.1. Nokia Cinemagraph updates to version 6.0 with support for those lovely short animations called ‘Living Images’. Other new features are ‘Device Hub’, improved Lumia Camera and Storyteller app, as well as other enhancements and bug fixes.
The current high-end models (Icon, 930 and 1520) will receive additional goodies – improved audio quality thanks to Rich Audio Recording, better auto-focus, low-light performance and colors).
With these updates, Microsoft’s platform is almost comparable with its main rivals and we hope that with all new OEMs that are developing new Windows Phones, the platform will quickly gain more traction and increase its market presence.
