Internal Camera Beta found in the Store

A variant of Lumia Camera could replace the stock Camera app that comes pre-installed on Windows smartphones including Samsung ATIV S, HTC 8X, HTC One, and all other non-Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone.

Many previously exclusive Lumia Camera functionalities like full manual control and intuitive user interface may be extended to all smartphones with Windows 10, although some new features like Rich Capture will be hardware dependent.

Windows Central informs about a developer who has managed to install a Beta version of the Camera app (Lumia Camera) on his Samsung ATIV S smartphone but a newer build is likely to be included in the first preview version of Windows 10 Mobile.

Lumia Camera has also been found in Windows 10 Technical Preview for PCs which is a sign that Microsoft will consolidate all camera apps across devices with upcoming Windows 10.

In addition, we understand that all modern smartphones with Update 1 (Windows Phone 8.1.1) will be eligible to install Windows 10 for phones through the new Windows Insider program. Microsoft is expected to announce the new OS and Preview program on January 21st.
