Imaging enhancement coming to high-end Lumia phones

According to Microsoft’s webpage, the Denim update that brings significant camera improvements to the high-end Lumia smartphones, has started rolling out to the Lumia 930 smartphones in Europe. Customers in eight European countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden) can now update their Nokia Lumia 930 devices to the latest version of the platform and get the enhanced camera features and all improvements part of the Denim update.

The Denim update for the second high-end PureView Lumia with Snapdragon 8xx processor, the Lumia 1520, is only available in the home ground – Finland. The tracker page indicates that the update is available to install in Finland.

If you have a Lumia 930 or Lumia 1520 smartphone, you should expect some exciting improvements of the photo capabilities including:

• Faster Lumia Camera boot
• Faster speed when taking photos
• Moment Capture – 4K videos with 24frps and the ability to save individual frames as still images at 8.3-megapixel resolution.
• Rich Capture – control the camera flash and exposure after the picture is taken, auto HDR mode
• New imaging algorithms for clearer photos

The Lumia Denim update should reach all smartphones around the globe by the end of January, but the update availability can vary by country and carrier. To check if you smartphone is eligible, go to the update tracker page or manually scan for updates on your phone.
