Lumia 525, successor to the Lumia 520, revealed by Nokia
For the last few months there have been rumors that Nokia is going to release a successor to its bestselling device, Lumia 520. Now it is official as Nokia has posted today the specs and a video of the device. So let’s see what it has to offer and whether it will be the next company`s bestseller.
Nokia 525 looks almost identical to Lumia 520. It will be offered in the same colors as well: black, white, yellow, and orange. But let`s see what it hides under the shell. It will be shipped with 4-inch IPS LCD display (800 x 480) with super sensitive touch at 235 PPI. Nokia 525 is powered by Dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. In terms of storage it has the same specs as its predecessor: 8GB internal memory and support for expandable memory with MicroSD cards up to 64GB. The device comes with a support for Bluetooth 4.0. Regarding the camera there are no changes made, it is still the same 5MP camera. The dimensions are 119.9 mm x 64 mm x 9.9mm and the weight is 124 grams. The battery is 1430 mAh and provides 14 days in standby mode. The device supports the following data networks: WCDMA (900 MHz, 2100 MHz), GSM (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz).
As you can see, there are almost no changes in comparison with Nokia 520. The only noticeable change is in the system memory. While Nokia 520 sports only 512 MB of RAM, Nokia 525 has 1 GB which makes it able to run all apps and games in the store. The other change is in the software. Nokia 525 comes with Nokia Black firmware installed which is yet to happen with the other Nokia devices except Lumia 1520. The price of the handset is around 200 USD and it will be launched around December 14. Unfortunately, it will only be available to China, India, Vietnam, the Middle East, and Africa.
