Insider Program is not over for Windows 10 Mobile
New builds for Mobile coming soon.
With Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update currently rolling you to supported smartphones around the globe, you may wonder what happens with the Insider Program. Microsoft publicly confirmed that new features and hardware are no longer a focus for Windows 10 Mobile, but support for existing models will continue until December 2019 with bug-fixing cumulative updates. That’s why many Windows phone enthusiasts believed that the Windows Insider program would be stopped after the 1709 update for Windows 10 Mobile.
But surprisingly, Microsoft’ Senior Program Manager announced on Twitter that the company is planning to release new builds for Mobile. In fact, build 15400 has already been compiled for Mobile, which means it’s coming from the same ‘feature2 branch’ and it doesn’t include new features.
Yes we plan to keep releasing new builds for Mobile!

A new Insider build could be released at any time for supported Mobile devices – all phones eligible for the official Fall Creators Update. Microsoft is about to update all smartphones supporting version 1703 to version 1709, except the Lumia 640 and 640 XL. Both handsets have not been included in the list with supported models for version 1709, although they could still join the Insider Program and install the same build.
