Imaging improvements for new PureView devices with Lumia Cyan update
Microsoft is preparing an additional software update called Lumia Cyan that will roll out alongside Windows Phone 8.1 in July for all Nokia-branded Windows Phones. Lumia Cyan brings new exclusive software goodies and improves some of the older features introduced with Lumia Black update back in 2013.
Among all improvements that the Cyan update will bring for new high-end Lumia smartphones such as Lumia 930, Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon are better imaging and video performance.
According to Nokia Conversation Blog, Lumia Cyan Update will significantly improve the low-end performance of these devices. Better colors, improved autofocus and better video quality are also part of the improvements. The above mentioned smartphones will use the sensor in a more clever way, according to Juha Alakarhu and Eero Salmelin, so even not processed RAW images will look better.
Lumia Cyan update will also bring an improved Nokia Creative Studio app with new filters, editing tools and more.
Your camera will automatically create ‘Living Images’ which are short animations including frames captured before you press the shutter button. Lumia Cyan and Windows Phone 8.1 will roll out to all smartphones in one package in the coming weeks.
