The upcoming smartphone Huawei Ascend W2 running Windows Phone 8 operating system will be budget-oriented.  Despite the rumors saying that the device would be on par with the other high-end Windows phones like HTC 8X, Nokia Lumia 920 and 925, Huawei has decided to do the opposite.

New images taken in Shanghai during the 2013 Mobile Asia Expo revealed the real specifications of the device. Huawei Ascend W2 can be considered as a low/mid-range device and it is obviously designed for the emerging markets. This could be good news for Microsoft and its Windows Phone platform, because the system needs some boost especially in these developing markets. Now the Windows platform will be presented with two budget-oriented handsets – in addition to the highly successful Nokia Lumia 520, the new Ascend W2 could also help to increase the overall Windows Phone presence.
