Hardware Specs of Project Scorpio gaming console revealed
The new game console to have 12GB RAM
The preliminary specs of the Microsoft’s upcoming 4K-enabled game console has been revealed today by Digital Foundry. Project Scorpio will be the most powerful console ever, allowing gamers to enjoy true 4k graphics. To support new games with high-res visuals, Microsoft will include eight custom x86 cores, each clocked at 2.3 GHz.
Project Scorpio will support memory bandwidth of up to 326 GB/s, up to 12GB of DDR5 RAM. The hard drive with be 1TB, 2.5-inch, while the optical drive – BLU-Ray, UHD 4k.
For comparison, Play Station 4 Pro has eight cores clocked at 2.1GHz, 8GB RAM, and supports memory bandwidth of 218 GB/s.
Microsoft should formally announce the console later in 2017 during a dedicated press-event.
