Groove Music & Movies and TV with major updates for Windows 10
Microsoft rolls out new features to its Groove Music and Movies app
After previewing many new features for Windows Insiders, Microsoft has rolled out the updated apps to everyone on Windows 10 and 10 Mobile.
Groove Music now allows you to share playlists via social media or email. Everyone who click on the link will automatically open Groove Music and can start listening to that playlist (if the user is a subscriber). But even for non-subscribers, Groove Music will preview millions of songs. Links to shared playlists require that all users are running the new version of Groove.
Movies and TV app now supports MPEG-2 videos after installing a codec from the Store. It requires a Creators Update build and you will be prompted to download the required plugin once you open such a file for the first time. Another improvement is that videos will be staying on top while multitasking in Windows 10 PC.
