Geanee WPJ40-10: low-end Windows 10 phone for Japan
The Windows Phone is launching soon for just Y12,800 ($105)
The Japanese company Geanee has presented its first Windows 10 phone – the WPJ40-10. The smartphone is very cheap – with an expected retail price around $105 (Y12,800), but Geanee WPJ40-10 will be running Windows 10 Mobile out of the box. The company is planning to release the handset in Japan before the end of 2015.
Geanee WPJ40-10 features a 4-inch display with a 800x480p resolution, an unknown processor backed by 1GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, and a microSD slot. The affordable phone has two cameras – 5MP on the back and 2MP up front.
After the upcoming official release of Windows 10 Mobile in December, we can expect many new smartphones to hit the market in early 2016. A number of Japanese OEMs have already presented working prototypes of new models based on Windows 10.
