Free wireless charging accessory with Lumia 930, glance screen missing
Nokia is planning to give a free wireless charging accessory with each smartphone purchased, allowing users to charge their Lumia 930 phones using a more convenient way. Nokia, Microsoft and other companies have recently joined the Wireless Power Consortium, so we expect many devices with built-in wireless charging in the near future.
While you should be happy to get a free accessory, your Nokia Lumia 930 isn’t coming without weaknesses. It appears that the new Windows Phone doesn’t support Glance Screen, a very useful feature displaying time, notifications, missed calls, and more. Similar to Verizon’s Icon, the 930 uses AMOLED technology that does not allow the glance screen to work. Nokia explained that the right type of technology with proper display memory would have increased the price of the smartphone.
