Microsoft to cut the Windows Hello animation in the Creators Update

Windows Hello is a feature in Windows 10 Mobile introduced with the Lumia 950 & 950 XL, allowing you to unlock your device securely after your eyes are scanned and recognized. Although the feature is very cool, most of the users have probably rarely use it in their daily lives. One of the reasons for that could be the relatively slow login process when using Windows Hello, as well as the Beta stage of the feature. But Microsoft has obviously heard the user’s feedback, and the company is significantly improving the Iris recognition in the Creators Update this Spring.

Microsoft has already optimized the Windows Hello feature in one of the internal builds of Windows 10 Mobile. In the video below, posted by Windows Central, you can see that the login time has been reduced by a second as the ‘Hello’ animation has been removed. In the test, the 950 with the new build outperforms the 950 XL running the official Anniversary Update:

The company is expected to show off all new features planned for Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update in a new Insider Preview build. Such a build may be released no later than a week’s time.

Here is how you can set up Windows Hello on your Lumia 950 / 950 XL.
