Early version of the MyPeople hub included in the first Redstone 3 build
Windows 10 Build 16170 includes the MyPeople app
Microsoft seeded the first test build from the Redstone 3 branch last week and we all thought this version did not bring any new features but only under the hood tweaks and changes. But now, thanks to Windows Central, we can have an early view of the MyPeople feature.
My People is hidden in build 16170, but it could be unlocked after a registry tweak. However, even if it’s enabled, MyPeople doesn’t work and it’s far from finished, but at least we can have an idea what it’s all about.
My People comes to live after a short setup experience, making connections with all social apps and contacts. After it’s enabled, MyPeople allows users to pin individual contacts to the taskbar for easy access to all connected social accounts, outlook mail and more. Users will be able to see the person’s phone number, compose emails and more using this new feature on Windows 10.
Microsoft should begin polishing My People and improving the experience as the development of Redstone 3 progresses in 2017. The company is planning to ship the final version of the third major update for Windows 10 around September -October 2017.
