Two ways to create a bootable flash drive or DVD

This tutorial explains in details how you can burn a bootable DVD or create a USB flash drive to install Windows 10 on a PC. There are many methods you can use, but two of them are widely popular because of their simplicity.

Create a bootable drive using Windows Media Creation Tool

1. First, you need to download and install the program on your PC. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

2. Select ‘Create installation media for another PC’.

3. Select Language, edition and architecture for Windows 10 installation.

4. Choose which media to use – USB Flash drive or ISO file (to burn a DVD later).

5. Click on ‘Next’ to initiate the process.

Create a bootable disk using Rufus

Rufus is a third-party software that lets you easily create bootable flash drive from ISO image.

1. Download Rufus from here. https://rufus.akeo.ie/

2. Run the program

3. Plug in the USB flash drive

4. Select the ISO image for Windows 10 you want to create a bootable USB drive for.

5. Click on ‘Start’ and let Rufus complete the process.

Using these two methods you can create a bootable media drive to easily install Windows 10 on a new machine (or fresh install Windows on the same PC).
