Continuum capabilities of the HP Elite x3 shown off in videos
HP publishes videos of Continuum with the Elite x3
The best Windows phone we will see in 2016 appears to be the HP Elite x3. HP, Microsoft Store and some online retailers have already started taking pre-orders for the super-phone, with deliveries expected to be made later in August.
To promote the new phone ahead of release, HP posted a couple of videos focused on one of the key features of the x3 – Continuum for phones. Those of you who follow the Windows Phone news more closely, or have a Lumia 950/950XL, should be familiar with Continuum. However, in the HP’s smartphone Continuum will not only power the secondary screen and give access to UWP apps, but also allow business users to run Desktop apps thanks to virtualization and subscription-based HP Workspace app.
Watch the videos below to see how the phone can be connected to the Desk Dock, to an external display, and connected wirelessly to a Continuum-enabled screen.
Pre-orders for the Elite x3 have started in many countries around the world, including the US, UK, Australia and Germany. The price is $699 in the US ($799 with the Dock), £707 in the U.K. (£749 with the Dock).
