Microsoft Lumia 550 costs £89.99, contract-free

One of the biggest retailers in the UK, Carphone Warehouse, started taking pre-orders for the three new Lumia smartphones. Lumia 550, 950 and 950 XL are now listed for pre-orders, contract-free or with monthly payments.

Lumia 950 from Carphone Warehouse costs £419.99 or £30 less than the price in the Microsoft Store UK. The 5.7 inch Lumia 950 XL is priced at £469.99, compared with £529.99 in the Microsoft Store, but keep in mind that Microsoft is offering a free Display Dock with each Lumia 950 XL.

Both phones are also offered on pay-as-you-go plans, with monthly payments from £32 and £35, respectively. The retailer will be shipping the smartphones by December 3.

The company is also offering the low-cost Microsoft Lumia 550 which is now available for pre-orders for £89.99 without a contract, or for £9.50 a month on PAYG. Lumia 550 is an entry-level Windows 10 phone that features a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution, Snapdragon 210 processor with 1 GB of RAM, LTE support, 8 GB internal storage, microSD slot, 5MP + 2MP camera, 2000 mAh battery. Deliveries are expected by December 8.
