A smaller version of a computer which is a mobile device runs on a mobile operating system. The ancestor of the tablet computer is known as pen computing where a paper was used as an output screen and a pen attached to electromechanical actuators used to put the output on it. Though this device was not released in the market, at last in 2005 they put their first step in the tablet market with the Nokia 770 based on the Maemo OS which was basically Linux software. After many more innovations and taste trials, finally, the modern tablets are manufactured.

The first OS that dominated the tablets in the 21st century was Android. The first Android-based tablets appeared in the market in the year 2009 which was planned in 2008.
