Always On’ Rich Capture coming to Lumia 950 phones
Force HDR mode confirmed for the Windows 10 camera app
The Windows 10 Camera app will soon allow you to ‘Force HDR’ while taking photos, according to Microsoft’s imaging head Juha Alakarhu.
The third option for HDR in addition to ‘Rich Capture OFF’ and AUTO will appear in the Windows 10 camera app for newer devices like the Lumia 950 XL and 950. The older high-end phones, like the Lumia 930, have a toggle for On/Off in the Lumia Camera app for Windows Phone 8.1.
Lumia 950 & 950 XL currently have two options for High Dynamic Range (Auto and Off) and there is no way to force HDR (On) – the phone automatically recognizes whether to apply such an effect or not.
Despite the fact that both phones have a pretty amazing dynamic range, some users may want to go further and experiment with the toggle. In case a photo is taken in HDR mode, you can manually adjust the effect.
