Alcatel OneTouch announces the Pixi 3 series compatible with Windows, Android, Firefox
More details at CES 2015 next week
Alcatel OneTouch has just announced something interesting – the OS-agnostic smartphone series – Pixi 3. The new line-up supports three mobile operating systems – Windows, Android and Firefox OS.
Customers need to decide which platform they want to get before placing orders, so technically Pixi 3 are not Tri-boot smartphones as you might think.
The press release says:
“PIXI 3 series offers consumers simplicity of use and the reassurance of having the same system at home, at the office and on the go. With its OS-agnostic PIXI 3 series, ALCATEL ONETOUCH presents operating-system choices to its customers.”
A 3.5-inch 3G smartphone, plus three LTE capable bigger budget-friendly smartphones (4-inch, 4.5-inch, and 5-inch) will be demonstrated at the upcoming CES event in Las Vegas. The exact specs lists are yet to be unveiled but you should not expect anything mind-blowing.
TCL Corporation already has an experience with different OS. In addition to many Android smartphones, the Chinese manufacturer has a Windows Phone device with a 64-bit processor (OneTouch Pop 2) and a phone running Firefox OS (OneTouch Fire).
