Windows Phone version of HTC One M8 gets certified for Europe and US
HTC is on the way to present a premium Windows Phone similar to the current Android flagship HTC One M8. The future top-end Windows Phone that could be called HTC W8 or HTC One for Windows has just popped up in certification database under the codename HTC6995LVW.
Meanwhile, HTC has sent out invites to the press for a special event in New York on August 19 so we will probably see company’s first Windows Phone very soon. Earlier rumors were saying that HTC One Windows Phone would be coming to Verizon on 21rd of August.
What we know about the next Windows Phone? It will inherit most (if not all) of the specs and features of its Android-based sibling including the metal chassis, Boom Sound system and Duo-cameras on the back. The list with possible specs includes a 5-inch fullHD screen, quad-core Snapdragon, 2 GB RAM, 16 or 32 GB storage, and a microSD slot. Below is a leaked press-render from Verizon’s servers.
The Certification website also reveals that the upcoming HTC One (M8) running Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 will support 3G & LTE bands for Verizon, AT&T and Europe which is a positive sign that this Smartphone can get a wider release instead of being a Verizon exclusive.
