Windows Phone is the most secure mobile operating system
We all know that security is among the most important things which the consumer has to take into consideration when choosing a smartphone. Android and iOS still hold the lion`s share in the mobile market, but in terms of mobile operating systems’ security the reports present a different picture. According to the recent reports, currently Windows Phone is the most secure mobile operating system in the world. The most unsecure is Android against which is targeted 80% of the malware. The reason behind it is that it is an open source platform. iOS is much more secure with 0.7% of malicious apps, while Windows Phone holds number one position in security with only 0.3% of malware.
And here is an explanation from Microsoft on how they protect their customers against malware. Michael Stroh from Windows Phone Blog counts the steps which Microsoft takes in order to do so. The first one is the fact that “Windows Phone Store is the exclusive consumer source of Windows Phone apps.” Second, Microsoft tests and checks each application which a developer submits for malware and performance issues. If the app is trustful, Microsoft certifies it and allows it for downloading. Third, if an app has a malware, it is removed.
As a result, Windows Phone`s users do not face security issues at all. We find this news very convincing for a consumer who seeks to buy a trustful handset. This concerns especially the corporative customers and government officials.
